Abstract

Intellectual - philosophical tradition of West, from Plato and Aristotle time, and even earlier, to the 20th century, and influencing a bipolar approach, preferred speech over writings. From this perspective, the way of conveying meaning was assumed to be possible only through speech, whereas the writing was solely considered as a substitute of speech. Naturally, such a rhetorical approach eventually provided an arena for every classic hermeneutics, where the concern for achieving the author's intentions was the subject of an interpretative purpose. With a quick look to the culture and history of Islamic Iran, one can argue that, with such similar experience and interpretation, in classical thinking we face with classical language and literature in the way that, Naser Khosrow, in particular, has organized this important issue. By preparation of theoretical principles in the form of titles such as name and address, speech, “speech, promise, and words”, and “speech and writing” defends the basic words, and eventually vote the priority of speech over documents from one hand, and, with the distinction between discounting, as the appearance of the Book and shari'ah, and the interpretation, as its inward and outward spirit, he introduces achieving the author’s goal as the ultimate goal of the writer on the other hand. This study aims to explain and interpret this claim
